Calculate grades and GPA easily
Enter your assessment scores along with how much each is worth, and this calculates your overall weighted grade. It also shows what you would need on remaining work to reach a target.
Weighting is where most manual attempts go wrong. Averaging percentages only works when every assessment counts equally, which is rarely how a course is actually structured.
Multiply each score by its weighting, sum those products, and divide by the total weighting. Averaging the raw percentages gives a wrong answer whenever assessments carry different weights.
Subtract the weighted points you have already earned from your target grade, then divide the remainder by the final assessment's weighting. The calculator does this for you.
Almost always because of weighting. A high score on a small assessment moves the overall grade much less than people expect, and a low one on a heavily weighted piece moves it much more.
