About Study Planner

Lay out what you need to study and when, breaking a syllabus into sessions you can actually work through rather than a vague intention to revise everything.

Most revision plans fail for the same two reasons: they allocate more hours than exist, and they schedule topics in blocks rather than spreading them out. Both are avoidable.

How to use it

  1. 1List the topics you need to cover.
  2. 2Estimate how many sessions each needs, then add roughly half again.
  3. 3Distribute them across the days available, revisiting each topic more than once.

Building a plan that survives contact with reality

  • Schedule fewer hours than you think you have. Plans that assume every evening is free collapse in the first week and then get abandoned entirely.
  • Revisit every topic at least twice, separated by several days. One pass through the syllabus is not revision, it is reading.
  • Interleave subjects rather than dedicating whole days to one. Mixing feels less productive and produces better retention.
  • Put the hardest material early in the day and early in the plan, while motivation and time to recover both still exist.
  • Build in blank days. A plan with no slack becomes worthless the first time something goes wrong.
