About Note Pad

A plain text pad for quick notes, with no account, no sync, and nothing to configure. Open it and start typing.

The absence of features is the point. A pad with no formatting toolbar and no folder structure is faster for capturing a thought than any application that asks where the note should live.

How to use it

  1. 1Click into the pad and type.
  2. 2Your text stays in the browser while the page is open.
  3. 3Copy anything you need to keep somewhere permanent before you close the tab.

What it suits

  • Capturing a thought mid-task without breaking your flow to open an app.
  • Stripping formatting from text copied out of a document or web page before pasting it elsewhere.
  • Drafting a short message where you want to see the whole thing before sending it.
  • Jotting figures or names during a call.
  • Working through a rough list that does not need to survive the day.

Frequently asked questions

Are my notes saved?

Notes live in your browser rather than on a server. Treat the pad as scratch space and copy anything important somewhere permanent before closing the tab.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Nothing you type is transmitted, which makes the pad suitable for text you would not want to paste into an online service.

Why use this instead of a notes app?

Speed. There is nothing to open, no account, and no decision about where the note belongs, which suits capture rather than storage.
